Abstract:
He will speak about some of the principles of drug discovery that he has learnt over the years as a researcher. He will then use examples of his research work to illustrate bench-to-bedside cases.

Dr. Pravin Iyer started his science journey started with a Pharmacy degree in Bombay, followed by a move to Pittsburgh, USA where he completed a doctorate and post-doctoral training in organic chemistry. He learned the ropes of drug discovery under the tutelage of some intrepid, world-class scientists at Roche Palo Alto, in sunny California. Starting at the bench, he has held positions of increasing scientific and leadership responsibilities in world-class R&D organizations, including AstraZeneca, Glenmark & Zydus Life Sciences. He is an inventor/developer of multiple clinical-stage molecules that are well on their way to becoming medicines for humanity. This includes 3 clinical candidates that have cleared Phase 2, human proof-of-concept studies and multiple Phase 1 clinical compounds.
